Community Spotlight: Notary Ceramics

As we continue to highlight our community partners, it is an honor to highlight Sarah of Notary Ceramics. Notary ceramics encapsulates the meaning of intentional, handmade pieces that each follow a pleasing neutral aesthetic. With an inventory ranging from lamps, kitchenware, to ikebana vases and bowls there is something of interest to everyone. When asked to describe her pieces in three words, Sarah proudly stated: “Timeless, Modern, Functional”. More from Sarah:

“I find a lot of inspiration in Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics. The minimal designs, and functional, well made pieces strike a lot of inspiration in a time where quantity tends to be valued over quality. I have learned so much patience from my work, and gained such an appreciation for handmade pieces. So often pieces do not make it through the process and I have to start from square one. Learning to take a deep breath and try again has been a huge learning curve for me as I truly put my heart in every piece.

I love how I am able to do a little of everything, and how my days have changed from when I first started. Whether I'm throwing, styling new pieces on shoots, tending to the potted plants out front, or ordering beautiful books for the shop I am constantly surrounded by beauty and creativity. I also have a great little team behind me and love getting to spend my days with them”.
